Brittney Grisaffi, LMFT #82232
Hi, I’m Brittney. I am a marriage and family therapist licensed by the state of California Board of Behavioral Sciences. I bring with me over 17 years of working with families, couples, single adults and teens all over Orange County. I am passionate about helping others be successful in their lives… with their relationships, their goals, their work and with feeling confident and passionate about life again.
I speak from professional (and personal) experience when I say that life can be difficult. Most of the time we think that we have a handle on things, but then something outside of our sphere of influence can impact us in ways we never imagined. This can be the break-up of a significant relationship, the loss of a family member or friend, sudden illness or change in health, a pregnancy or other life event. Sometimes we just may have hit a wall with realizing that we haven’t been happy for a long time and are tired of feeling this way. Whatever is happening for you, I want you to know that you are not alone and support is available. Together we will explore the things that are troubling you, take steps to heal the parts of yourself that have been affected and develop solutions and skills to help get you moving onward. Take the first step today by calling or emailing me to make an appointment. I look forward to hearing from you and assisting you with getting on a path to feeling better.
What my clients are saying
As far as working with couples, she is very neutral and fair. My husband (now) & I both felt like she was helping us work on our relationship together. She would fairly and gently point out things to each of us that would benefit our relationship together, and it worked. We have taken what she has taught us & we have never been happier together.
She is just the best! And even though I would prefer not to go through things in life that a therapist could help me through… I know those times are inevitable & I am happy I have Brittney to help me work through them & be better from them.”
More about me
In college I took a Sociology course and was required to volunteer for a community cause of my choice. I chose to volunteer at a shelter for abused women and children and had the honor of facilitating play groups, sports activities and art with the children while the mothers attended their group therapy. Being a part of these activities and seeing the joy on the children’s faces each week completely hooked me. I wanted to do more. So I applied and got hired for a paid position at another shelter while still volunteering for the first one, of course!
I later earned a Master of Science Degree in Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University, Fullerton. I also hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from California State University, San Marcos.
I completed my professional therapy internships at an emergency shelter for homeless, runaway and abused children (Casa Youth Shelter), a residential treatment program for pregnant and parenting teens in foster care (Mary’s Shelter) and an outpatient counseling clinic providing individual, couples and group therapy to men and women adults participating in the Welfare to Work program (College Community Services/CalWORKs).
Since 2014, I have also been supervising and mentoring other therapists in training. In addition to providing therapy in private practice, I am currently a Clinical Supervisor of Associate Marriage and Family Therapists, Pre-licensed Clinical Counselors and Associate Social Workers.
